課程簡介 This doctoral seminar explores advanced theories, immersive technologies, and emerging research issues related to Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), metaverse ecosystems, and extended reality (XR)-enabled consumer experiences. The course is designed for PhD students seeking to develop rigorous and internationally publishable research within the fields of digital marketing, immersive technology, consumer behavior, and smart service innovation.
The seminar emphasizes interdisciplinary theory-building, conceptual development, methodological rigor, and critical analysis of immersive digital environments and technology-mediated consumer experiences. Students will examine how VR, AR, MR, and metaverse platforms reshape consumer engagement, experiential marketing, digital interaction, and value co-creation across contemporary digital ecosystems.
In addition, the course provides intensive doctoral-level training in advanced academic writing, SSCI publication strategies, conceptual framework development, theory contribution construction, and research presentation skills. Through seminar discussions, critical literature analysis, and doctoral workshops, students will strengthen their abilities to develop high-quality theoretical and empirical research suitable for international journal publication and global academic collaboration.

授課教師簡介 Professor Timothy Jung is Chair Professor of XR (Extended Reality) at Manchester Metropolitan University and Founder of the Creative AR & VR Hub. He is internationally recognized for his research on immersive technologies, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), artificial intelligence (AI), metaverse innovation, and digital transformation. His interdisciplinary work explores how emerging technologies reshape consumer experiences, tourism, healthcare, education, retailing, and smart services.
Professor Jung has published more than 150 academic works and has led numerous international research projects related to XR-enabled experiences, AI-powered systems, metaverse applications, and immersive marketing. He is also President of the International Association of Immersive Technology Innovation (IAITI) and Conference Chair of the International AR/VR/XR/Metaverse Conference. His research excellence has earned global recognition, including being listed among the world’s top 2% scientists. His teaching emphasizes interdisciplinary thinking, theoretical development, methodological rigor, and international publication in digital marketing and immersive technology research.
